Who Athena is for

Who is Athena for?

Lean RIAs and small teams that want more clients without adding people, especially when a meeting-heavy model cannot cover a long tail of smaller accounts. The same platform also packages for wealth, asset management, and insurance when the institution wants a firm-branded household experience and supervised automation. See For RIAs and For enterprise.

If the growth plan is to raise minimums and serve fewer clients, you may not need this. If the plan is to serve more clients at a profit, this is the product.

What problem does Athena solve that suites do not?

Suites are strong at portfolio accounting, billing, and advisor workflows for fewer, larger relationships. They were not built so one lean operator can supervise a large book of smaller clients who need daily money answers.

Athena is the client app, Mission Control, investing under one policy, always-on planning, firm-branded communication, and ads that land in the same app. AUM can grow faster than headcount. That is the story on Why Athena.

Is Athena only for solo advisors?

No. Solos and lean teams are the sharpest case for “$1B. One person. One platform.” Multi-advisor firms use the same math: every client that gets answers in the app frees the calendar for judgment and growth.

How do we get started?

Book a demo. We map the book, the custodian, and a rollout. Most firms start with the client app and Mission Control, then deepen planning, communication, and investing. Ads come on when the wellness app can hold the click.

Surfaces

What clients open, and what advisors open.

What is the difference between the client app and Mission Control?

The client app is what clients and prospects open: firm-branded wellness, Health, debt and credit, ranked next steps, and Athena AI in the firm’s voice.

Mission Control is the household CRM. Advisors open it for the book, leads, messages, exceptions, and overnight work. Consumer apps only serve the household. Suites only serve the advisor. Athena is both sides of one platform.

How is this different from a typical RIA portal?

A typical portal is balances, performance, statements, a vault, and a secure message. Useful, and often empty for daily money questions. Athena is closer to a wellness app under your brand: cash, debt, credit, retirement, Social Security, education, insurance, tax-aware contribution choices, ranked next steps, and chat that explains the methodology. See portals versus wellness apps.

Can prospects use the wellness app before they become a wealth client?

Yes. The app is free to the client. The firm runs Athena. They get something useful, then you have more than one later shot to convert them. That is from ad to wealth client, not a form and a phone call.

Does the app run in our brand and voice?

Yes. The client app, email, and ads can carry the firm brand. Athena AI is not a generic chatbot skin. It explains supervised methodology and sends complexity to your team.

Comparisons

How Athena relates to consumer apps and suites.

How do you compare to apps like Monarch or Origin?

Monarch is strong at tracking and household collaboration. Origin is closer on advice topics, and it competes for the client relationship. Athena aims at similar daily use under your brand, with supervised methodology, advisor escalation, and a path to open and fund. We do not claim to be Monarch. See Monarch and Origin versus Athena.

How does Athena compare to Orion or Advyzon?

Orion and Advyzon are strong suites for portfolio work, reporting, trading, and advisor workflows. Athena does not pretend those products are weak at accounting. The gap for a lean book is a consumer-quality client app, Athena AI tied to planning, communication that is not a marketing bolt-on, Mission Control as the household CRM, and ads that land in the same app. See Compare and Orion and Advyzon versus Athena.

Would we rip out our suite?

You keep the custodian and the books and records. Mission Control is the household CRM, so you do not need a second CRM for the book. A suite that already holds statements can stay. See Integrations.

How is this different from an advisor marketing tool?

A marketing tool buys attention. It does not run the book or convert inside a firm-owned app. Athena’s growth path is a paid click into the wellness app, then many later shots at a funded client. See from ad to wealth client.

Planning and Athena AI

How recommendations are made, and where people stay in the loop.

How does planning work?

Household data, year-by-year simulation, and advice engines produce ranked next steps on the Health roadmap. Simulation projects wealth, Social Security, tax, required minimum distributions, and contribution paths across poor, average, and good scenarios. It is not sold as a full multi-path Monte Carlo engine. See planning methodology and Planning.

Is this model-written advice, or rules?

Core recommendations come from engines and simulations. That record is auditable. Large language models explain those recommendations in the firm’s voice. The solver proposes. The model narrates. Off-policy or high-judgment cases go to a person. See Athena AI.

How does supervision work with Athena AI?

Engines produce the recommendation. Chat explains it. Advisors supervise in Mission Control. Ad creative passes a compliance check before it publishes. The firm remains responsible for marketing and advice. See Security.

What money-life areas does planning cover?

Retirement and Social Security, education, tax-aware contribution choices, debt and credit, cash, goals, insurance, and home context, ranked by impact on the Health roadmap. Always-on next steps in the client app are first-class, not a module the advisor opens twice a year.

Does Athena replace our planning software?

Many firms keep a specialized tool for complex estate work or a formal plan document. Athena runs the always-on household simulation, the ranked actions, and the client-facing explanation. Ask in a demo how that maps to your current workflow.

Communication

The inbox should not grow with the book.

How does Athena handle client communication?

In-app notifications, firm-branded email, Athena AI in the app, and an inbox that drafts from household data. Lead messages get people onto the platform. Later messages keep giving advice. The record lives on the household in Mission Control. See Communication and communication at scale.

Will automated messages feel like spam?

Generic campaigns feel like spam because they ignore household state. Athena triggers on real conditions: missing match, debt, credit, retirement readiness, enrollment. The note points back into the app where the next step lives.

Can Athena answer client email?

When someone emails the firm, Athena matches the household and drafts from their data. Approve-to-send or auto-send is a firm policy. It is capacity for a large book, not a promise that every reply goes out with no review.

Is this a marketing email tool?

No. A marketing tool runs lists. Athena runs communication from the same household that holds the plan, the app, and the trades.

Investing, ads, and the stack

How the book is invested, grown, and connected.

What does Athena do for investing?

Taxable, Traditional, and Roth are managed together. Athena does not force every account to look like the model. You set the investment policy. One overnight household run harvests losses, places assets, rebalances when risk has drifted, and puts leftover cash to work. A job holds if it has nothing to do. Advisors supervise in Mission Control. See Investing.

What is Athena Ad Tech?

Ads on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Creative goes through a compliance check and advisor approval. The click lands in the wellness app, not a form. The bidder uses app opens, Athena AI, linked accounts, and funded status, then retargets click-not-funded. Rollout for a given firm is a talk-to-us item. See Ad tech.

Does Athena replace our CRM or custodian?

Mission Control is the household CRM. Athena does not replace the custodian, or the books and records. The only custodial platform we connect today is Charles Schwab. Workplace recordkeepers are a different connection. See Integrations.

How does billing work?

Billing starts from the signed agreement. Invoices, statements, advisor payouts, and card or ACH collection sit on that record. Schwab retries are part of the custodial path. See Billing.

Where should I read next?

Why Athena is the thesis. Compare is the suite view. Security is supervision and SOC 2 Type II.
